Brain-Friendly Friday: Make Your Meetings MORE Productive

Turn your meetings into productive events!

According to an MIT Sloan Management Review, executives spend twenty-three hours a week in meetings. That’s almost one full day! 🥴

As someone who hates meetings, I have some thoughts (based on science, of course) on how companies can recover that time and create practical, productive events… that maybe even I would enjoy:

🕒 The default length of meetings should be 15 to 45 minutes. (Of course, there will be times that call for a longer meeting. But that shouldn’t be your standard).

🚪 Give your employees the ability to leave a meeting if they feel their presence will not add value.

⏲ Use an egg timer to limit speaking time to avoid lengthy introduction rounds.

📧 If you can replace the meeting with an email, do so.
