Brain-Friendly Friday: Skip The Nightcap

Time to skip the alcohol before bed!

Having a nightcap to help you fall asleep?

Alcohol may assist with sleeping, but it comes with a caveat… …it makes it more challenging to 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮 asleep.

You increase the neurochemical adenosine (a sleep inducer) when you drink, making you drowsy. But once you fall asleep, your body processes the alcohol, and your adenosine level plummets. This drop may wake you up and make it difficult to fall asleep again.

Chamomile tea, anyone?
