Brain-Friendly Friday: Get Moving To Stay Moving
Schedule in daily movement to keep your energy levels up!
Julie Linn Teigland, a managing partner at EY, is one of the most energetic people I know.
Despite her heavy travel schedule, she is always energized and upbeat!
“What’s the key to your success?” I asked her.
“Before I speak to an audience, I love to get out and walk around the block for a couple of minutes. And don’t laugh, but I have one of those little under-the-desk pedalling machines that really keeps my energy up!”
From a neuroscience perspective, this is hardly surprising. Exercise releases a number of neurotransmitters, including endorphins and dopamine!
So, if you’re looking to break up your day and keep energy levels up, schedule regular breaks for walking, pedalling, or movement.
