Brain-Friendly Friday – It’s Time to get Active!
How can I fit exercise into my workday if I don’t have time to go outside or go to the gym?
Well, luckily, you don’t have to go anywhere to enjoy the benefits of a quick workout. In fact, with a quick “deskercise,” you don’t even have to leave your office!
It’s easy to get started by keeping fun exercise gear in your office that takes up minimal space, like resistance bands, a kettlebell, a rebounder, an ab roller, or a balance board.
You probably already know that “sitting is the new smoking,” and if you can squeeze in exercise, you’ll be happier and more productive. Exercising increases blood flow to the brain, sharpening our awareness.
So try this today:
📱Turn your phone to “airplane mode” to block emails, texts, and other distractions.
⏲️After 45 minutes of deep work, set a timer for 15 minutes.
🏋️Exercise until the timer goes off.
🔁Repeat.
Plus, won’t it feel fun to take a break to “surf” on your balance board each day? 🏄
