Get Your Body Moving to Boost Your Brain

Your physical wellness impacts your mental health.

Physical activity is 1.5 times more effective than counselling or the leading medications for managing mental health issues, according to a recent Univerist of South Australia study.

Does that mean that everyone who is currently managing their symptoms with medication should quit them cold turkey? Not at all! But they should consider adding in another helpful substance to the mix:

MOVEMENT.

I am a huge advocate for moving your body daily!

Not only is it great for keeping your brain healthy and sharp, but the science shows that it is great for managing your mental health too!

High-intensity exercise (think HIIT or spin classes) have been shown to be incredibly beneficial for people with anxiety and depression – even more so than longer duration exercises.

The cool thing is that ANY amount of movement is going to have a noticeable (and quantifiable) positive effect on your overall mental health!
